Beat the January blues with free donuts and coffee and do something good at the same time. The Red Cross and Dunkin’ Donuts have paired up to create the Dunkin’ Donors Make a Difference Campaign.
How to Score Free Dunkin’ Donuts This January
According to Time.com, January is a bad month for blood donations. So, the American Red Cross has paired up with Dunkin’ Donuts in an effort to boost donations – for the 11th year.
In exchange for a blood donation, you can score a $5 Dunkin’ Donuts gift card when you donate with the Red Cross. The gift cards can be spent on any donuts or food as well as drinks. How about a Boston Kreme and a Hazelnut Latte?
The Red Cross will be offering $5 gift cards for the entire month of January. The campaign is available in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and some part of New York.
The drop in platelet donation is due to flu and sickness, as those who are ill can’t donate. Additionally, many blood drivers in colder areas of the country are canceled during the winter months.
“The need for blood doesn’t break for winter weather,” said Donna M. Morrissey, director of national partnerships for Red Cross Biomedical Services, said in a press release.
