Seasonal Jobs: Target, Macy’s, Amazon and More Are Hiring Holiday Workers

It’s beginning to look a lot like… Ok no, not yet. But many retailers are now recruiting extra hands to help with the holiday rush. If you’re looking for a part-time gig, you’ll be happy to know that seasonal workers are in demand. Offering up hourly rates of between $8 – $12, these jobs are sure to have you racking in extra cash over the holidays.

Score a Seasonal Job


The busy season starts with Thanksgiving on November 23. This leads to the infamous Black Friday sale – the busiest shopping day of the year. Be ready to work long hours over that weekend, but know you’ll receive a generous paycheck at the end of it. So, get your resume ready and hit up the following retailers.



Do you look good in red? According to their press release, the retail giant is currently advertising for 100,000 new team members across 1,816 stores. Don’t fancy making sales on the shop floor? You’re in luck because Target will be hiring another 4,500 seasonal workers at their distribution centers.


Target is throwing a hiring event from October 13-15 at stores between 10 am and 6 pm. You’ll get the chance to have an interview and maybe even get hired on the spot. Click this link to view open positions and find out more.


While working at Target you can expect some pretty sweet benefits. They are offering up a competitive wage, a variety of schedules and two discounts. The first is 10% off merchandise instore and online, additionally, you’ll get 20% wellness discount on fruit and veggies, Simply Balanced branded food, and C9 athletic gear.

Toys R Us


As one of America’s leading toy retailers, they are certain to busy for the coming holiday season. Toys R Us and Babies R Us are searching for part-time store and distribution center employees. They are also putting on 2 hiring days – October 10 and November 11 during regular store hours, that’s 11 am to 4 pm.

According to their website, 20% of their holiday workforce retain their position after Christmas. So, you may have the chance to score a permanent gig at Toys R Us.





It’s not just Santa that delivers those Christmas parcels. UPS are currently looking to fill 1,700-part-time positions for the holiday season. From Package Handler to Delivery Driver, UPS has open positions across most states. You can find out more, here.





At Macy’s there are all kinds of holiday positions to be filled. Whether you want to work as a Sales Associate or Merchandiser, there are lots on offer. You can search through Macy’s job, here, using keywords and locations, so type in “seasonal” to see the what’s available in your area.
